Ashnikko Releases New Single ‘You Make Me Sick!’

'You Make Me Sick!' is an aggressive, screeching track that wavers in between punk and industrial. It’s a different version of the singer whose usual style lies in bubblegum pop and alternative, however they have touched on heavier styles before, such as in ‘Cry (feat Grimes)’ from their debut album ‘Demidevil,’ that came out in 2021 . Ashnikko has even described the new single as their most ‘angriest and cathartic song to date.’ The title pretty much sums up the entire lyrical content of the song which is a massive f-you to an ex lover. They create some good imagery like the line ‘you make me sick, you make me turn my inside out onto the bricks.’ With the rhyming of the verses is a little simple, it doesn’t divert from the intention of fury. Ashnikko expertly uses their voice in this song, warping it at points to sound like an innocent girl whilst shifting into violent screaming. The erraticness really portrays the hectic feeling of anger and it’s evident Ashnikko is being as raw as possible in their music. 

It’s not a surprise Ashnikko has incorporated more guitars and punk into their new track-they’ve always been a fan of the genre and an alternative artist. ‘You Make Me Sick!’ is probably their heaviest song to date. We are looking forward to seeing what they do next.
