Beyonce Tours The World With 'Renaissance'

The Renaissance World Tour is showcasing Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, Renaissance which was released in 2022. It was her first release since 2016, and included hits such as ‘Break My Soul’ and ‘Cuff It.’ The dancehall, disco-inspired album smashed music records worldwide and made Beyoncé the first artist to simultaneously chart at number 1 on 23 or more Billboard charts.

The first pre-sale of the Renaissance World Tour saw more than half a million people queuing on Ticketmaster to get tickets, inevitably causing the website to crash. It was so popular in the UK that Beyoncé added 3 more dates to her London shows. It is said that overall, the singer grossed $154.4 million and sold a total of 1 million tickets.

The two and a half long show was made up of a several-stage set with pyrotechnics and metallic-horse structures, taking 18 months to design. Beyoncé has multiple outfit changes during the set, wearing looks from high profile fashion designers such as Thierry Mugler and Alexander McQueen. The show has been received hugely well by critics, with some calling it ‘the greatest pop show on Earth’ and has been praised for its progressive messages such as standing up for LGBTQIA+ rights.

As one of the biggest artists of all time, Beyoncé  has certainly stunned fans and critics alike with yet again another brilliant performance. This well anticipated tour and album was definitely worth the 7 year wait, and perfectly showcases why Beyoncé is the queen of pop.
