Sabrina Carpenter Opens Up About Her New Music and Personal Growth

Sabrina Carpenter's been busy lately, and she's got a lot to say about it. The singer and actress recently sat down to chat about her latest music and how she's changed over the past few years.

"I feel like I've grown so much as a person and an artist," Carpenter said. "My new songs really reflect that. I'm writing about stuff that's real to me now, you know?"

Carpenter's been in the spotlight since she was a kid, starting with her role on Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World." But now, at 24, she's coming into her own as a musician.

"It's weird to think about sometimes," she admitted. "I've been doing this for over a decade now, but I feel like I'm just getting started in a lot of ways."

Her new album, which she's been working on for the past year, is set to drop soon. Carpenter says it's her most personal work yet.

"I'm talking about relationships, about figuring out who I am, about dealing with all the crazy stuff that comes with growing up in the public eye," she explained. "It's scary to put yourself out there like that, but it feels right."

When asked about her songwriting process, Carpenter laughed. "Oh man, it's different every time. Sometimes I'll wake up with a melody in my head and rush to record it on my phone. Other times I'll sit at the piano for hours trying to get one line right."

She's also been collaborating with other artists and producers, which she says has pushed her in new directions. "Working with different people, you pick up so much. It's like, oh, I never thought about doing it that way before."

Carpenter's sound has evolved too. While she's still got that pop base, she's been experimenting with different genres and production styles.

"I love pop music, but I don't want to be boxed in," she said. "On this album, there's some R&B influence, some rock elements. I even got a little country on one track, which was fun."

But it's not just her music that's changed. Carpenter talked about how she's grown as a person too.

"I used to care so much about what everyone thought," she admitted. "It was exhausting. Now, I'm learning to trust myself more. To speak up when something doesn't feel right."

She credits therapy and a strong support system for helping her navigate the ups and downs of the entertainment industry. "It's not always easy, but I'm in a good place now. I feel more confident in who I am and what I want."

When asked about her goals for the future, Carpenter smiled. "Obviously, I want the album to do well. But more than that, I want to keep growing, keep challenging myself. Maybe do some more acting, maybe write for other artists. Who knows?"

She paused, then added, "The most important thing is that I'm making stuff I'm proud of, you know? That's what matters at the end of the day."

As for her fans, Carpenter had a message for them too. "I'm so grateful for their support. I hope they connect with the new music. And I hope it maybe helps them feel less alone if they're going through similar stuff."

With her new album on the horizon and a renewed sense of self, it seems like Sabrina Carpenter is ready for whatever comes next. "I'm excited," she said. "It feels like a new chapter. Let's see where it goes."
